INGENCO Executes Energy Purchase Agreement and Site Lease with Guilford Mills, Inc.
April 3, 2007
Pine Grove, Pennsylvania
INGENCO has partnered with local textiles manufacturer Guilford Mills to harness the energy of the Pine Grove Landfill, which is located just northeast of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. INGENCO will construct a 2-mile pipeline from the nearby landfill to the Guilford Mills site for direct use in their gas-fired boilers. Gas that Guilford does not use will be directed to a 4 MW power plant developed on the Guilford site.
This project is unique, as it will convert a continuous flow of landfill gas into multiple beneficial uses. Any portion of the gas not used by Guilford Mills for thermal energy will be used to produce electricity by INGENCO’s rapid-response technology. As a result, all of the landfill will be beneficially used, even when the demand for any of the above individual uses is less than the landfill energy available.
The site is scheduled to be operational by the end of 2007.
